The Buldan fabric is used especially for silky handkerchief, silky sheets, muslin, undercoat, crepon napkin and towel.
Buldan is located in Denizli, which is on the Aegean part of Turkey . The method of hand weaving in Buldan is learned from the people doing merchandising on the Silk Way .
The Buldan fabric is used for centuries. There are different kinds of Denizli - Buldan fabric in Topkapý Palace belonging to 14th century. The first hand weaving workbench was used in 1910 in Buldan. There were no standards for producing the fabric during the Ottoman Empire . The standardization of fabric production had first begun in 1714. The standards for the fabrics’ width, length, weight and stitch number are being used since 1930.

But this fabric is not famous as the daily used cotton sheets. The production of Buldan fabric is still done in workbenches not in automatic machines. The products are sewed by the women living in Buldan not in factories. So the same products can differ from hand by hand.
